Manning yells "Omaha," raises money

Quarterback Peyton Manning no longer plays for the Indianapolis Colts, but his run to the Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos is raising money for Indiana charities.

The Indianapolis-based Peyback Foundation will receive nearly $25,000 in donations from eight Omaha, Nebraska companies. Inside Indiana Business says the employers pledged $100 for every time Manning yelled “Omaha” during Denver’s win over New England in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

Manning yells “Omaha” when he changes the play at the line of scrimmage. The foundation supports at-risk children, and funds various programs in Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, and the Denver area.

Meantime, officials in Omaha, Nebraska have capitalized on the potential free advertising. The Omaha World Herald reports the city’s Chamber of Commerce plans to invite Manning to Omaha after the February 2nd Super Bowl.
