Common Reading draws writers, students

Authors and poets are joining students at an Owensboro college this week.

The Common Reading program runs from Wednesday through Friday at Owensboro Community and Technical College. Kaye Brown tells WNIN News it’s the tenth year for Common Reading.

She says readers include the current poet laureate of Kentucky, Frank X. Walker, and former poet laureate Joe Survant. Bobbie Ann Mason, who wrote “In Country,” will also read, and novelist Silas House will conduct a writing seminar.

More information on Common Reading can be found at visitowensboro.com/calendar. And you can hear more from Kaye Brown on this week’s Trend program, Friday at noon and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. on WNIN FM.
