The Evansville Fire Department says it’s now better equipped to care for four-legged family members. WNIN’s John Gibson explains:
The EFD says it’s received 20 pet oxygen masks that will be distributed across the department’s front-line fire apparatus and ambulances.
The kits are designed to help firefighters and EMS crews provide oxygen to pets suffering from smoke inhalation during a fire.
The department says each kit includes specially designed masks in multiple sizes to accommodate pets of different breeds and sizes.
The EFD says the masks were donated by Invisible Fence Brand of Louisville through its Project Breathe program.
The department says it’s grateful to the business for investing in the safety of the community and helping protect “all members of the family.”
