The blue wave extended to some races in southwest Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson covered local Republicans:
Vanderburgh County GOP Chairman Kyhle Moers reflected after the votes were counted Tuesday night:
"We definitely saw impact of high Dem turnout. Some results were expected and some were not."
The results show Incumbent Republican Vanderburgh County Councilor John Montrastelle falling to Democrat Jason Jett.
Moers called it unfortunate:
"John Montrastelle is a really good county councilor and we appreciate everything he did for us. And it 's a really unfortunate result in his race."
Moers and other local Republicans watched the election results at Casey’s Dugout on Lincoln Avenue in Evansville.
