The Tri-State returns to Standard Time Sunday morning despite efforts to end time changes

Despite calls to end time changes, we will “fall back” this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

(Music: “Time Has Come Today” by the Chamber Brothers)

The Tri-State returns to Standard Time early Sunday morning, when clocks are turned back one hour.

Smart phones and many modern clocks make the change automatically at 2 a.m.

But for clocks that don’t, you’re asked to turn them back an hour before going to bed Saturday night or when you wake up Sunday morning.

The change will provide more daylight in the morning and less in the evening.

A bill to keep the U.S. on Daylight Saving Time year-around has stalled in the Senate.

Some health experts say it’s a bad idea because it would create dark winter mornings for school and work commutes, increasing the risk of traffic crashes.
