If you need home repairs before winter arrives, you may want to apply for help Wednesday (Oct. 29). WNIN’s John Gibson explains:
The CenterPoint Energy Foundation has dedicated another one-million dollars to support the Home Repair & Care Program in southwestern Indiana.
The contribution builds on a previous two-million dollar investment earlier this year.
Jessica Walter of Community One says the program has been working:
"So far this year, we've completed almost 250 projects for homeowners and we've seen bills go down on average at least ten percent."
CenterPoint President and CEO Mike Roeder says the funding will help more customers complete energy-saving home repairs:
"It's the folks that are above the federal poverty line but maybe don't make enough to really handle some of these things themselves."
Eligible customers can apply for the Community One assistance from 8 a.m. Thursday until 8 a.m. Friday here.
