An elderly Boonville man is dead, days after a piece of an airplane fell on his vehicle. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The Vanderburgh County Coroner says 88-year-old Leon Hatchett succumbed to his injuries at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
Sunday afternoon, a wheel fell off a small crop-dusting plane while it was in the air over Warrick County.
The wheel hit Hatchett’s vehicle on the ground near the intersection of Baker Road and High Rock Blvd. in Boonville.
Hatchett was taken to the hospital and the pilot safely made an emergency landing.
There was no word of any injuries to the pilot.
An investigation continues.
