The City of Evansville will host its final Block-by-Block event of 2026 this week. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
The latest is set for Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the one-thousand block of W. Maryland Street.
As part of Friday’s event, the city will demolish a house through Mayor Stephanie Terryʼs Fight Blight initiative.
Terry notes the Block-by-Block events bring city services directly into neighborhoods with the goal of strengthening connections between residents and available resources.
She says they’re a part of her administrationʼs commitment to neighborhood revitalization and “making sure every neighborhood gets the attention it deserves.ˮ
