Sturgis, Kentucky has received state funding for a new water treatment plant. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Officials say Sturgis is receiving a 16-million dollar state grant to help build a new facility to end years of water service issues.
For years, the western Kentucky town city has purchased water from outside sources because it doesn’t have its own treatment plant.
Those arrangement have led to higher costs for customers.
The new plant will allow the city to pump and treat its own water.
