The Evansville Police Department is welcoming two new officers who are no strangers to the city. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The EPD says both are Evansville natives joining the department as “lateral transfers” from other agencies.
33-year-old Officer Daltyn Backes is a graduate of Reitz High School and USI, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice.
Backes served more than nine years with Indiana State Police and is a recipient of the Combat Action Award.
24-year-old Officer Luscius Lloyd is a graduate of Bosse High School and UE, where he earned a degree in Business Administration.
Lloyd previously served with the Henderson Police Department.
Both are now working for their hometown police force.
