CenterPoint: Heating Bills May Go Down

File

CenterPoint Energy says lower natural gas prices could trim monthly heating bills by $9

CenterPoint Energy says your heating bill this winter may be a little lower. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The utility company says its projections for natural gas heating show the average residential customer paying about nine dollars less per month.

CenterPoint says that’s largely due to expected lower natural gas costs.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is forecasting that Midwest households heating with natural gas will spend about 10-percent less this winter compared to last year.

CenterPoint Energy Indiana President Mike Roeder (RAY-der) calls the forecast “welcome news” and says the company is “committed to prioritizing affordability for our customers.”

Residents have seen a number of utility rate increases in recent years and CenterPoint bills frequently top the list of citizen concerns.
Applications for assistance opened October 1st.

Households at or below 60-percent of the state median income can apply through the Community Action Program of Evansville, or CAPE.
