A number of organizations are planning a voter festival Oct. 18th in Evansville's Vann Park

A nonpartisan celebration of voting and civic participation is set for this month on Evansville’s East Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

It’s called VoteFest and it’s planned for Sunday, October 18th, in Vann Park.

Indivisible Evansville says the event will encourage residents to vote early while connecting them with local organizations.

The fest will feature food trucks, live music, crafts, and an involvement fair.

In addition to Indivisible Evansville, organizations involved include the League of Women Voters, Veterans for Peace, River City Pride, Evansville Climate Collaborative, and River City Rising.

I.E. also says all local political parties have been invited, and all candidates for office are encouraged to attend.

VoteFest will be held from noon to 4 p.m. October 18th, in Vann Park.
