Officials celebrated the opening of the Vault on Main at the site of the former 18-story Old National tower

A ribbon has been cut officially opening The Vault on Main in Downtown Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Friday’s ribbon cutting celebrated the opening of 161 new apartments and a nearly 60-million dollar investment at the site of the former Old National Bank tower.

The four-story complex was developed by CRG Residential as part of a public-private partnership.

Mayor Stephanie Terry’s office says it represents years of work across administrations and many people working together.

Terry says a strong downtown needs “people living here.”

She says it needs more people walking Main Street, supporting restaurants and businesses, attending events, and becoming part of the Downtown community.

She calls the long-awaited project a win for Downtown Evansville.
