Work is underway on the fourth Habitat home in the Building Homes and Health Initiative. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The new house at one-thousand N. Third Avenue in Evansville is being built thanks to the partnership of Deaconess Health System, the University of Evansville, the University of Southern Indiana, Indiana University School of Medicine-Evansville, and Habitat for Humanity.
Deaconess funds the projects and student volunteers help build the houses.
At Wednesday's groundbreaking, Mayor Stephanie Terry called it a great example of what can happen when partners come together to support families and strengthen neighborhoods.
Habitat says thanks to the partnership, another local family is one step closer to a safe, affordable place to call home.
