The University of Evansville says women's basketball player Jordan Scott died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday evening

A holiday weekend crash in Warrick County claimed the life of a University of Evansville basketball player. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

UE says it is “heartbroken” by the passing of sophomore student and women's basketball player Jordan Scott.

The university says she was involved in a motor vehicle accident Sunday evening.

UE calls the Castle High School graduate “a cherished member of the Purple Aces family” and says her loss is being felt deeply across the campus.

Scott played her freshman year at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel before transferring to UE.

Officials at Wabash Valley and Castle are also expressing condolences.

Reports indicate a vehicle driven by Scott crashed into a utility pole near Boonville and she succumbed to her injuries.
