Evansville’s next block-by block cleanup has been announced. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Mayor Stephanie Terry says the city’s third Block-by-Block event of 2026 is set for Friday, September 11th, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Glenwood/Culver neighborhood.
The volunteer effort will be part of the United Way of Southwestern Indiana's Day of Caring.
This year’s Day of Caring will take place in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the 9-11 Attacks and the National Day of Service and Remembrance for the lives lost on that day in 2001.
Since the launch of Block-by-Block in 2024, the city says volunteers have collected more than 20-thousand tons of trash across seven neighborhoods and significantly reduced trash and weed violations.
