Work on Evansville’s East Lloyd Expressway is about to enter a new phase, starting as soon as Monday. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Officials say Phase 3 of the Lloyd 4U initiative will mean lane shifts and new turn lanes at Burkhardt Road and Cross Pointe Blvd.
They say work to move barricades and shift lanes will take several days to complete and drivers should remain alert.
Displaced Left Turn lanes will open for westbound left turns from the Lloyd onto southbound Cross Pointe and southbound Burkhardt.
Eastbound drivers on the Lloyd will continue to use the existing left-turn lanes at the main intersections.
Officials say right turns from westbound Lloyd onto northbound Cross Pointe and northbound Burkhardt may be restricted at times.
Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions on the East Lloyd with one exception: westbound Lloyd will be down to one lane starting Friday night, August 21st, until Monday morning, August 24th, for storm sewer work.
