The city of Evansville has announced a half-million dollars in grants to 35 local organizations. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Mayor Stephanie Terry announced the recipients of Forward Together Grants on Wednesday, 8-1-2 Day.
Terry says the funding supports organizations that advance three key community priorities: neighborhood revitalization, youth wellness, and literacy.
The top recipients include ECHO Housing, HOPE of Evansville, the Vanderburgh County Health Department, and the Y-W-C-A of Evansville -- each receiving 25-thousand dollars.
Other top recipients are Youth First, Aurora, CAPE, and the Dream Center.
WNIN received a ten-thousand dollar grant.
The city says the third round of Forward Together Grants brings the city's total investment to one-and-a-half million dollars over the past three years.
