A new principal is taking the reins at a Henderson elementary school. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The school district says Ryan Maher is the new principal of East Heights Elementary.
Maher brings 20 years of experience in education to the role, including experience as an assistant principal, instructional coach, and elementary classroom teacher.
The Henderson County School district says throughout his career, Maher has focused on supporting students, teachers, and families while building strong relationships and positive school communities.
Maher has served as an assistant principal at both Central Academy and Spottsville Elementary and previously worked as a Student Services/Instructional Coach at Central Academy.
His teaching experience includes Kindergarten, second grade, and fifth grade, along with experience as a Title I Math Specialist and Curriculum Coach.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Pittsburg State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton.
The new school year begins Thursday in Henderson County schools.
