Students, teachers and staff are returning to EVSC classrooms for the 2026-27 school year

Classes have resumed in the area’s largest school district. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

School bells are ringing again in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation.

Before the resumption of classes, EVSC Superintendent Dr. Darla Hoover presented a post with music on Facebook about renovations completed during the summer break:

"Summer work also included a renovated parking lot and exterior improvements at Perry Heights, major roofing projects at Vogel, Hebron, and Lincoln, and new flooring at Bosse and Dexter. At Lodge, a underused second floor space is now three much-needed classrooms and a STEM lab. And at Harper, students will return to a brand new playground built for active play."

Hoover also noted upgrades at the district’s athletic facilities:

"These project represent more than buildings and facilities. They are an investment in our students, our staff, and the experiences they have every day."
