Posey County Commissioners say they would reject a data center off Boberg Road, but may approve another location

Posey County Commissioners say they will vote “no” on a potential data center in the Wadesville area. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

All three commissioners told a packed meeting on Tuesday that a potential site off Boberg Road has been agricultural for many years and is not suitable for industrial development.

The announcements brought a round of applause from residents opposed to the idea.

County Commission President Bill Collins told the gathering:

“Believe it or not, we hear you” (applause)

Commissioners did not rule out a data center development somewhere else in the county, but Collins said they have no official proposals before them.

Such centers have raised widespread concern over their use of enormous amounts of water and electricity.
