The town of Newburgh is celebrating the opening of a two-point-six million dollar playground for kids of all ages and abilities. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

Newburgh Parks Board President Mary Ann Wilsbacher invited kids onto the new playground in Lou Dennis Park on a sunny Tuesday – the last day before the start of school for many of them.
The playground replaces the Fortress of Fun that was dismantled five year ago.
Wilsbacher couldn’t help but get emotional after opening the gate:
"This has been so long in coming. We have worked so hard to provide this for the children of Newburgh."
Newburgh Deputy Mayor Andrea Balboni describes some of the playground’s features:
"So, we have 11 slides and I believe 3 of those are large slides that at least 3 kids can go down together side-by-side. We have 13 swings including ADA swings, infant swings..."
And that’s not all:
"A lot of climbing, a lot of slides, a lot of interaction, and then of course you have the obstacle course, which is like a bamboo forest. And then a huge, huge rock wall."
The two-point-six million dollar playground was made possible by one-million in funding from E-REP, support from the Newburgh Town Council, and private donations.
Wilsbacher says a sign will be erected thanking all of the donors.
