A new traffic pattern is coming to a four-lane street in Henderson. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
2nd Street – also known as Kentucky 351 – will be reconfigured with one lane of traffic each way, a two-way left turn lane in the middle, and bicycle lanes on each side.
The street currently has two lanes each way for motor vehicles.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the goal is to improve pedestrian safety, create a more predictable traffic pattern for motorists, and provide dedicated space for bicyclists.
Work is scheduled to begin on Thursday, weather permitting, along 2nd Street between Green and Carlisle streets.
Officials say the project will be completed through pavement restriping and will not require roadway widening, modification, or major construction.
