As the school year begins in Evansville’s Catholic Schools, police are introducing three new resource officers. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Evansville Police Department says Officer Wayne Hunt, who recently retired from the EPD after serving more than 27 years, will be assigned to Holy Rosary School.
Officer Chad Diedrich recently retired from the EPD after serving more than 20 years. He’ll be the resource officer at St. Benedict’s School.
And Officer Jackie Juncker, who worked for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office for eleven years, will be assigned to Good Shepherd School.
The EPD says school resource officers provide safety and security, investigate any crimes committed by students, and provide students with a role model for good citizenship.
