Will Oakland City University staff finally get paid this week? WNIN’s John Gibson has the latest:
OCU President Ron Dempsey says in an email the school will soon be printing checks, and they’ll be available this Friday -- nearly three months late.
The checks are expected to cover the May 8th payroll.
That’s when the cash-strapped university laid off staff, suspended its undergraduate program, and failed to pay employees.
OCU has repeatedly promised to its pay the former staff but it has hasn’t happened yet.
There’s still no word on when other missed checks will be paid out.
Area colleges and universities – including USI, UE, and Ivy Tech -- have reached out to Oakland City students about transferring to those schools.
