A B-29 airplane has arrived at EVV for the Evansville Wartime Museum's War Bird Weekend

One of two historic airplanes has arrived in Evansville for “War Bird Weekend.” WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The Evansville Wartime Museum says a Boeing B-29 Superfortress landed safely at the airport Sunday evening.

The big propeller-driven aircraft nicknamed “Doc” is the first of two visiting planes for the museum’s War Bird Weekend.

The other, a P-51 Mustang “Gunfighter,” is expected to arrive later this week.

Officials say both planes will be available for ground tours starting Thursday.

The Superfortress will offer rides Saturday and Sunday morning, while the P-51 will be available throughout the weekend for single passengers -- as weather allows.

Tickets for the Superfortress can be purchased at b29doc.com

Admission to the Wartime Museum is 20-dollars for ages 16-and up, 10-dollars for kids ages 5-to-15. Children under 5 are admitted free.

There’s also a Family of Four pass available for 60-dollars.
