Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry is among leaders praising a new federal housing law. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
Terry calls the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act the most significant federal housing legislation in decades.
Among other things, the new law restricts large institutional investors from buying single-family homes and temporarily prohibits the Federal Reserve from establishing a digital dollar.
It passed with overwhelming bipartisan support but President Trump declined to sign or veto it -- and it became law.
Terry thanked congressional leaders who came together to make it happen.
She says the law provides new tools to increase housing supply, reduce barriers to development, modernize housing programs, and make it easier to build needed homes in Evansville.
