Police arrested Naydin Barnes and Donyell Moore for an allegedly robbery, auto theft, and leading officers on a pursuit in Evansville

Two men are in custody, accused of robbery, stealing an SUV, and leading police on a pursuit. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says two suspects robbed a man at gunpoint on a parking lot near Bosse Field late Sunday night,
one of them hit the man with a gun, and they stole his SUV.

Investigators say the suspects, later identified as Naydin Barnes and Donyell Moore, were spotted in the stolen SUV and Evansville Police tried to pull them over.

A pursuit began and eventually ended in the 800 block of Monroe Avenue, where authorities say the two suspects jumped out of the still-moving vehicle.

Barnes and Moore were taken into custody on charges including robbery, auto theft, and resisting arrest.

During the arrests, a dog escaped from a nearby home and approached a sheriff’s deputy and his K-9.

The sheriff’s office says when the dog charged within feet of the K9 team, the deputy discharged his weapon to protect himself and his partner, killing the dog.

The incident was captured and preserved via body camera.
