Thousands enjoyed a fundraising rehearsal by John Mellencamp at Evansville’s Ford Center. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The Indiana native invited the public to the rehearsal and all that was required for admission was a donation to the Evansville Rescue Mission:
"Guys, thank you for showing up to help the homeless and to help us."
Mellencamp and his band then delivered song after song, starting with “Lawless Times”:

Outside the Ford Center, the Rescue Mission’s Kyle Gorman told WNIN’s Sarah Downs that he appreciates the community’s generosity:
"Just last week we put a plea out for water and so, the community showed up big last week and it looks like they're showing up big again this week."

Mellencamp and his band tuned up for an upcoming tour that begins Friday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
