The mayor of Evansville has accepted a new leadership role. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Mayor Stephanie Terry has been appointed Southwest Indiana Workforce’s Chief Local Elected Official.
The appointment is effective immediately.
The group says Terry will collaborate with elected officials from across southwest Indiana to help guide the group’s strategic direction and support initiatives that strengthen the region's workforce.
The mayor is also expected to work with fellow elected officials to oversee funding decisions and ensure workforce investments align with the needs of employers, job seekers, and communities.
Terry says she’s honored to serve and eager to take on the new responsibility.
She says the Workforce group helps connect people to careers and employers to talent, which is “critical to the long-term success of Southwest Indiana."
Terry is appointed to the role through June 30, 2027..
