Fire has damaged a child care facility on Evansville’s East Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The blaze broke out just before 8:00 Sunday evening at Harvest Ministries in the 11-hundred block of S. Green River Road.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the two-story building across from Washington Square Mall.
They contained the fire to the first floor and tapped out the blaze in about 30 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
There’s no word yet on how the fire started.
The firefighting effort forced the closure of Green River between Washington and Monroe Sunday evening.
It has since reopened.
There’s no word on the impact on childcare services at Harvest Ministries on Green River.
