A cleanup continues after flooding rains caused ditches to overflow into the swimming pools at Burdette Park. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Officials say the floodwater carried mud, rocks and other debris into the pools, closing Burdette’s Aquatic Center on Sunday.
After draining the pools and an intense cleanup, crews began refilling them on Sunday.
Officials planned to reopen the aquatic center Monday but as they wait on water testing results, the Family Pool -- or Baby Pool-- will be closed.
Only the Olympic Pool, Splash Park and Back Water Slides will be open.
Admission prices have been lowered for Monday and Tuesday.
The water test results are expected on Wednesday.
Burdette says the safety and well-being of its guests will be the “top priority.”
