The CenterPoint Energy Foundation has announced grants to nine small businesses to make energy efficiency improvements. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The recipients of the Optimize for Local grants are independently owned restaurants and retailers across southwestern Indiana.
Each business was awarded up to 25-thousand dollars in matching grant funds to complete upgrades that reduce energy waste and improve performance.
Funded projects include HVAC replacement, refrigeration upgrades, and building efficiency enhancements.
The nine recipients are Gehlhausen, Haynie’s Corner Mart, Honey Moon Coffee, La Campirana, The Old Mill, The Peephole Bar & Grill, River City Coffee & Goods, Sandy’s Pizza, and the Vineyard.
