Vanderburgh County Commissioners have postponed a decision on emergency medical services. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Commissioners are considering three proposals for EMS outside the city limits: the county’s current contractor, AMR, as well as the Vanderburgh County Fire Department and the Evansville Fire Department.
A final decision on county service was expected Tuesday (June 16) but Commission President Justin Elpers said more time is needed:
"We are going to table that to June 30th. We need to hammer out more details."
The three entities made pitches to commissioners in late May.
At that meeting, Sheriff Noah Robinson recommended the Vanderburgh County Fire Department for the job.
The city of Evansville dropped its contract with AMR and the EFD will take over city ambulance service next month.
