Major restrictions are expected to start Monday at one of the busiest intersections in the Evansville area. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The Indiana Department of Transportation says the weather forecast is looking favorable for the work at the Lloyd Expressway and Burkhardt Road.
INDOT says crews will upgrade the aging pavement in the middle of the intersection.
Officials say all left turns will be prohibited and no through traffic will be allowed on Burkhardt for about seven days.
During the work, only right turns will be permitted and two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions on the Lloyd.
INDOT recommends detours for Burkhardt traffic.
Officials suggest westbound drivers use Stockwell Road and the median U-turn to get back to Bukhardt, while eastbound traffic can use the I-69 cloverleaf to return to Burkhardt.
INDOT says it appreciates everyone's patience and urges safety in the construction zone.
Lane restrictions continue on both the East and West Lloyd for Lloyd4U projects.
