Nominations are being accepted for this fall’s Art Awards. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The EVPL Foundation is accepting nominations to recognize those who have made significant contributions to the arts in southwestern Indiana.
It’s the first year for the library foundation to serve as the Regional Arts Partner.
The Arts Council used to lead the effort but the council shut down at the end of 2025.
EVPL Chief Operating Officer Heather Kelsey says the foundation is “delighted” to continue the tradition of the Art Awards.
She says the awards not only acknowledge current contributors, but also “inspire new artists to design, create, write, or perform new works for the benefit of all.”
The awards will honor individuals, groups, businesses, projects, and institutions, and will be presented at the EVPL Foundation’s In The Stacks event in November.
Finalists in each category will be announced in advance and will receive two free tickets to the event, where Mayor Stephanie Terry will present the prestigious Mayor’s Art Award.
