That’s Neil Woods presenting a check to Evansville Parks Foundation President Chris Piekos.
Woods told reporters at the C.K. Newsome Center why his foundation chose to donate:
"Kids love splash pads. My own kids love splash pads. So, we'll be happy to go there and we'll head there all the time with my own kiddos."
Piekos notes the water feature is planned for the former site of the indoor Lloyd Pool:
"I think a lot of people are missing that summer feature and (to) get out of the summer heat. So to be able to bring the splash pad back to Igleheart Park is a huge win for the community."
Lloyd Pool closed in 2021 and was later demolished.
Officials hope to open the splash pad before the end of the year.
