Work underway along University Parkway in western Vanderburgh County

An economic development project called Old Farm Reserve calls for homes and businesses along the University Parkway

A major, multi-use development is in the works in western Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

County Commissioners this week approved a memorandum of understanding with Parkway Improvements LLC, which plans to develop a 130-million dollar residential-commercial complex.

The Old Farm Reserve is planned for a 110-acre site along the University Parkway, north of USI.
Commissioners Mike Goebel and Amy Canterbury were impressed:

"Looks beautiful...Exciting"

Commission President Justin Elpers thanked the developers:

"You know, on behalf of the county we really appreciate your investment. I know there's going to be a lot of people excited about this development as in an opportunity to live out there and raise a family and so forth. So, I know this has taken a little bit of time, appreciate your patience."

Development proposals have been talked about in that area since the University Parkway was finished in 2012.

The first phase of the Old Farm project calls for single-family homes, apartments, a hotel, a shopping center, and more than a dozen commercial lots.

The goal is to finish the project by the end of 2028.
