USI, UE, and Ivy Tech are reaching out to students and staff at Oakland City University. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
Following OCU’s announcement that it will lay-off staff and put undergraduate classes on hold until the 2027-28 school year, the University of Southern Indiana said it’s offering resources, personalized guidance, and academic pathways to “help OCU students continue their education with minimal interruption.”
Meanwhile, University of Evansville President Christopher Pietruszkiewicz says UE stands ready to help Oakland City students navigate their paths.
He encourages affected students to go here.
And Ivy Tech says its academic advisors are ready to review student transcripts to help maximize transfer opportunities, outline remaining degree requirements, and provide personalized career counseling for OCU students.
Many universities have been facing an existential crunch driven by declining enrollment, demographic shifts, and financial strains.
