EWSU: Time for Disinfectant Change

EWSU

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility is making its twice-a-year disinfectant change, giving tap water a swimming pool-like taste

It’s the time of year when the taste of tap water changes in the Evansville area. WNIN’s John Gibson explains:

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility says Monday marks the start of the semi-annual disinfectant switch.

The utility says it will change to free chlorine instead of the usual chloramine through June 29th.

The EWSU calls it “routine maintenance” and an important part of keeping the water distribution system in top shape.

The utility says it ensures “safe, high-quality drinking water.”

Customers may also detect a change the taste of the water – more like swimming pool water.
The EWSU serves 63-thouasand customers in the Evansville Area.
