As summer swimming season approaches, the city of Evansville is raising pay for lifeguards. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The city says starting pay this year is 15-dollars, 50-cents an hour.
Officials also say free lifeguard certification training will continue to be offered for those interested in working at city pools.
The city says leadership roles, like head guards and managers, will be paid higher wages.
Officials say the updates reflect Evansville’s commitment to maintaining safe, high-quality aquatic programs while creating seasonal job opportunities.
Persons interested in applying for lifeguard positions are asked to contact Kathryn Van Hook at 812-435-6164.
