Sale of WEVV, other Indiana TV stations finalized

WEVV Channel 44 in Evansville has officially been sold to Gray Media Inc., as of May 1, 2026. The agreement with Allen Media Group was announced August of 2025. The same owners of Channel 14 WFIE now own Channel 44.

WEVV Channel 44 in Evansville has officially been sold to Gray Media Inc., as of May 1, 2026. The agreement with Allen Media Group was announced August of 2025. The same owners of WFIE Channel 14 now owns Channel 44.

The agreement was announced in August of 2025; 'station transactions' were closed on Friday, between buyer Gray Media Inc. of Atlanta and Allen Media Group of Los Angeles

WEVV Channel 44 in Evansville has officially been sold to Gray Media Inc. as of May 1.

"Station transactions" were closed on Friday between buyer, Gray Media Inc. of Atlanta, and Allen Media Group of Los Angeles.

Gray Media also owns WFIE Channel 14 in Evansville.

Employees of WEVV were notified Thursday via email that the process was finally complete. The agreement was reported in August of 2025.

There were no details of how the transition would be handled at the time.

Employees were told representatives from both companies would be available, and details were forthcoming.

WEVV was sold as part of a $171 million deal which included nine other stations in the South and Midwest. Stations in Terre Haute West Lafayette and Fort Wayne were included.

Gray said in the news release, this will allow them to expand into new markets.
