A Spencer County woman is dead and another is injured after a head-on crash near St. Meinrad. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Indiana State Police says it happened Monday night on State Road 162 near State Road 62.
A preliminary investigation shows 37-year-old Amber Gogel of Dale was driving a small SUV northbound while 40-year-old Amanda Kern, also of Dale, was driving a larger SUV southbound.
Gogel’s vehicle reportedly crossed the center line and hit Kern’s SUV head-on.
The ISP says Gogel died at the scene.
An ambulance took Kern to Deaconess Medical Center in Jasper with serious but stable injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
