RESRG Automotive in Evansville will start cutting jobs in June and close by end of 2026

An automotive supply company is closing its doors on Evansville’s East Side, putting more than 260 people out of work. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

RESRG Automotive says it has made what it calls “the difficult decision” to permanently close its plant on Congress Avenue by the end of the year.

The Michigan-based company says it’s expected to phase out 212 hourly workers and 54 salaried positions, beginning in June.

RESRG has issued a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, commonly known as a WARN notice.

The company says it will work with affected employees who will be offered positions at other RESRG facilities.

The local plant started as Windsor Plastics in 1964, was purchased by Guardian Industries in the 1980’s, later sold to RSG Global, and then merged with REHAU Automotive.
