Changes are coming to Kentucky’s driver licensing system. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Kentucky Information Network for Driver Licensing will replace the current, nearly 40-year-old system.
Gov. Andy Beshear says the new system and online portal will launch in June, providing online services that will reduce wait times at offices and minimize paperwork.
Beshear says the myDrive portal will enable Kentuckians to pre-apply for a license, permit or ID, request a card replacement, check their current license standing, and more.
The governor says residents who are due to renew their licenses in June are strongly encouraged to visit a Driver Licensing Regional Office before June 4th.
He says all offices will be closed on June 4th and 5th, and hours of operation will be adjusted through June 18th for the system migration.
