Democratic 8th District Candidates to Meet

League of Women Voters of Southwestern Indiana

Democrats seeking the 8th District congressional nomination will meet Saturday at Evansville's C.K. Newsome Center

Democratic candidates for Indiana’s 8th District congressional seat will take part in a forum this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

The League of Women Voters and the NAACP are hosting the candidate forum on Saturday.
It’s planned for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the C.K. Newsome Center at Walnut and Heidelbach avenues. Doors open at 10:30.

The league says all four candidates seeking the Democratic nomination are expected to attend: Evansville City Council President Mary Allen, teacher and musician Mario Foradori, disabled veteran Christopher Rector, and autism advocate Tabitha Zeigler.
They’re competing in the May 5th primary for the right to challenge incumbent Republican
Mark Messmer of Jasper in the November general election.

Messmer does not face a challenger in the GOP primary.
