Ivy Tech Community College in Evansville has unveiled a new mascot. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
The student body, faculty, and staff chose Rex, a monarch lion.
Rex also pays tribute to the history of Ivy Tech’s main campus on First Avenue, which was Rex Mundi High School from 1958-1972.
Rex Mundi’s mascot was the monarch.
Ivy Tech says a large group of Rex Mundi alumni attended yesterday’s (Tues) event welcoming the new mascot.
Dona Hall, a Rex Mundi grad, bestowed Rex’s crown upon his head during the ceremony.
Ivy Tech student Gracie Defur, a visual communications major, helped develop the Rex costume.
