A busy ramp on Evansville’s East Lloyd Expressway is reopening, while new closures are coming to the West Lloyd. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The Indiana Department of Transportation says a newly designed ramp connecting southbound I-69 to the westbound Lloyd will reopen as soon as Tuesday (April 7).
That’s more than a week earlier than anticipated.
The new exit will include a stoplight to control traffic entering the westbound Lloyd.
Meanwhile on the West Lloyd, southbound intersections at Schutte Road and Boehne Camp Road are expected to close this week.
Schutte will be cut off from the Lloyd for about two weeks, and Boehne Camp will be closed for 30 days.
INDOT says drivers trying to access Schutte can take Middle Mount Vernon Road or Broadway Avenue as a detour.
Middle Mount Vernon also works as a detour for Boehne Camp.
All the work is part of the multi-year Lloyd4U initiative.
