Ascension St. Vincent is lifting its system-wide visitor restrictions. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The health care provider says it decided to lift the restrictions, starting April 1st, after a sustained and welcome decrease in the prevalence of respiratory virus infections across Indiana.
The restrictions were originally implemented in January to ensure what Ascension St. Vincent called the health and safety of patients, associates, and the community during a period of high respiratory virus activity -- including elevated cases of the flu and COVID-19.
Officials say they appreciate the understanding and cooperation of patients and loved ones while the precautions were in place.
Ascension St. Vincent says its leaders will continue to closely monitor local and statewide health data, including infection rates and hospitalizations.
