The city of Evansville is addressing what it calls "horrible conditions" at a mobile home park off Oak Hill Road

The City of Evansville is taking action after “horrible conditions” were discovered in a local mobile home park. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The city says Mayor Terry was made aware of the conditions at the park off Oak Hill Road, near Oak Hill Cemetery, last week.

After conversations with both the Building Commissioner and Department of Metropolitan Development, the city says it performed an emergency clean-up of the property, issued a demolition order for fire-damaged trailers, and are considering a vacate order.

The city said any vacation order will not occur until housing options are identified for affected families.

The Mayor directed the Department of Metro Development to assist residents with emergency housing support if needed.

The city says the property has been the subject of complaints since 2022, and the Building Commission previously conducted cleanup efforts in 2022 and again in 2025.

The City says the priority is protecting the safety of residents while addressing the conditions at the property.
